Trish Anen, RN, MBA, NEA-BC 


With over 30 years of combined clinical, executive, and consulting experience, Trish has a deep understanding of the evolving health care marketplace and helps organizations enhance and optimize individual and team performance. Principal of Trish Anen Advisory Services which offers individual coaching, organizational facilitation and advisory services to support individual, team and organizational success. 

Prior to that, served as a Principal and Practice Leader for SullivanCotter, a human resource and compensation consulting firm serving 90% of hospitals ranked in U.S. News and World Report Best Hospital Honor Roll. Successfully launched new workforce practice which served over 100 clients in first four years including Stanford Healthcare; Atrium Health; Advent Health; University of Chicago Medicine and Hennepin Health Services. 

Prior to SullivanCotter, Trish co-founded the Center for Advance Practice Providers (CAP2) with 300 member organizations where she developed the largest national dataset representing 30,000 APPs. CAP2 offerings included a unique interactive website, annual member meetings, ongoing education forums and a national council of 50 largest APP employers and was awarded the local ACHE Innovation Award and listed as best practice by Joint Commission.

Trish was previously with the Illinois Health and Hospital Association (IHA), where she was the first Vice President of Advisory Services and the Chief Clinical Officer at the Metropolitan Chicago Healthcare Council (MCHC) which served over 90 healthcare organizations across the metro Chicago area. Prior to her association work, Trish served as both the Chief Nursing Officer and Chief Operating Officer at Edward Hospital and as the Vice President of Operations, Quality and Human Resources at Rush Copley Medical Center, both in the greater Chicago, Illinois, area. 

Trish currently serves on the  Board of Directors for a local hospital where she is a member of the Executive Committee and the Board Quality and Safety committees and the University of Illinois College of Nursing Advisory Board. Previously she served as a board member for Tenet Healthcare Chicago Region (Westlake and West Suburban Hospitals) and Vanguard Health (Westlake Hospital). She was on the board of the Illinois Organization of Nurse Leaders where she served as President in 2014. Trish has presented nationally at many conferences including ACHE Annual Congress on Healthcare Leadership, AHA Health Forum, AHLA webinar series, Children’s Hospital Association Annual Leadership Conference, MGMA Annual Conference, AONE Annual meeting. She also published two articles in 2021 in in the American Academy for Physician Leaders Journal. 

Trish is a registered nurse and holds a Nurse Executive Advanced-Board Certified (NEA-BC). She also holds an MBA from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, and a BS in Nursing from the University of Illinois, She is a fellow of the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Business Nurse Executive Program. She holds a certificate from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, Women on Boards and a Nurse Executive Advanced -Board Certification (NEA-BC) from ANCC and a certificate in Advanced Skills Coaching.
